Art Planning
Art Planning is the preliminary process we use to design and map out creative projects, and involves integrating arts and culture into community, environmental, corporate, and non-profit strategies. Our interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to this work is a core competency, and key to each project’s success.
Since 2019, we have led art planning for Stewart’s Caring Place, which included commissioning and overseeing the development and installation of artwork for their new cancer wellness center in Fairlawn, Ohio. We worked in collaboration with The Jones Group to ensure all of our design and creative work aligned with their team’s vision for the building.
In 2021, we helped Stewart’s secure a grant to install a hanging rail system for artwork in the halls of their building. This new Healing Arts Gallery opened in April of 2022 with an exhibition featuring the exquisite textile art of Katie Mongoven. In 2026, we celebrated Holding Light, the 10th art exhibition at Stewart’s Caring Place, featuring the luminous paintings of Care Hanson, Dee Fairweather, and Megan Frankenfield and is free and open to the public Monday - Friday, from 9:00am - 5:00pm.
In 2022-2023, our art planning work extended to the redesign of the library in Stewart’s Caring Place. This including working with local girl scouts to realize their vision for a teen-friendly co-work space with healing bookstore vibes. With support from the Carson Strong Foundation, we partnered with Kontur Woodworks and Davey Tree to create a custom-made tree bookshelf and table for the library. Our work also extended to the creation of a lightweight LED tree canopy for the bookshelf, collaborative painting of the Carson’s Canyon mural, selection of new furniture, and bespoke creative items throughout the space.
Art Planning is not limited to interior spaces and galleries. We leverage it for a wide range of projects including public art, placemaking initiatives, community events, multimedia projects, environmental assessments, and more. The relationships we build through the power of art is what helps us thrive and grow together as a community. Research shows that when artwork is present it enhances well-being, reduces stress, boosts innovation, increases focus and productivity, and strengthens relationships.
