RUN AKRON Final

The Run Akron collaborative mural from the Akron Marathon has been completed and installed at Akron Marathon’s headquarters on Wolf Ledges Road, in Akron’s University Park neighborhood. More than 5,000 participants and attendees used paint pens to make their mark on this signature celebration of community at the Akron Health & Fitness Expo.

The next morning, we transported the painting to the Finisher’s Festival at Lock 3 Park, where Mac outlined the letters so everyone could take their photo in front of the mural. Thousands of people joined friends, family members, and their fellow runners to celebrate their achievement with the signature painting

After the festival, we transported the mural panels back to our studio, where Akron Marathon staff and volunteers worked with us to color in the letters, clean up some lines, and complete the mural for installation. We added a marine-grade anti-graffiti coating, designed signage to accompany the mural crediting the artists and our generous sponsors, and installed the mural when weather permitted.
