Resiliency & Recovery
In early 2026, we were approached by the Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center about the possibility of hosting a special community art exhibition for Sexual Assault Awareness Month in our space. Our teams aligned on the timing and logistics for the show, and the call for art went out. In two short months, more than 4x as many submissions were received than had been expected. Art x Love was able to work with our exhibiting artists to clear out the gallery for this special two week show and celebration of survivors.
Resiliency & Recovery: The Art of Survival is a moving gallery exhibition featuring multimedia artwork created by survivors of sexual assault. The show reflects the courage it takes to heal, the strength found in resilience, and the transformative power of creative expression. Resiliency & Recovery: The Art of Survival was more than an art show. It was a space for truth-telling, restoration, and community connection. Each piece represented a survivor’s journey — honoring pain, celebrating growth, and reclaiming voice.
More than 120 people turned out for the opening reception, meeting with organizers, viewing the work on display, gathering in support of community, and sharing stories of resilience and recovery. In the days and weeks that followed, hundreds of people visited the exhibition and shared how powerful and inspiring the experience was.
Resiliency & Recovery: The Art of Survival was a trauma-informed exhibit that centered survivor leadership and lived experience. By creating space for art and storytelling, we affirm that healing is not linear and that every survivor’s voice matters. Each piece is survivor created, and survivor curated. We believe awareness grows through witness. When a community gathers around truth and creativity, we strengthen our collective commitment to prevention, advocacy, and hope.
