The Red Umbrella

The Red Umbrella (Diamond) was painted by Mac Love in 2005 while in residence at The Hygienic Galleries & Co-op, in New London, Connecticut. The Red Umbrella is a continuation of Mac’s Umbrella Series of paintings, and depicts a crystalline umbrella against a passionate red background. The Red Umbrella explores Love’s grief, frustration, and hope in a time of uncertainty from his life.

The Red Umbrella was donated to an HIV/AIDS charity auction and raised $5,000 in support for local treatment and care.
