King of Diamonds

The Cleveland Cavaliers won their first NBA championship in 2016, the year our family moved to Akron. To commemorate the occasion, Mac created this iconic painting of Lebron James embracing the 2016 NBA Championship trophy and the City of Akron. This is a black acrylic painting on holographic paper collage and chalkboard, measuring approximately 3 ft. x 4 ft. The colors and shapes in the painting shift with changes in light and perspective.

Mac gifted King of Diamonds to the family owners of Akron's Diamond Deli so that local residents could share and celebrate this unforgettable moment and tribute to our beloved community.

In 2025, we took the painting down for a brief period to remove grease and restore the piece to its original glory. Mac also added an anti-graffiti coating to make the piece easier to clean in the future. Stop by and check it out at 378 S Main St, Akron, OH 44311.
