Five Points Garden

In the summer of 2019, Art x Love was engaged by Dara Harper and The Emmanuel Christian Academy to create a streetscape mural at their new Five Points Garden, where Akron’s Highland Square meets West Akron. Art x Love donated the materials and oversaw creative development of the asphalt art placemaking transformation with the students.

The Five Points Garden asphalt art project was the culmination of several collaborative efforts and opportunities between Art x Love and the Emmanuel Christian Academy. This included a gallery tour of the @PLAY Akron project, collaborative mural painting, a teaching session focused on urban blight, and a serendipitous chalk mural collaboration in Cleveland.

Five Points Garden features several collaborative creative projects with local artists, and has become a beloved gateway to Akron’s west side.
