In 2025, Art x Love was engaged by Downtown Akron Development Corporation (DADC) to create their brand identity, collateral, and guidelines. DADC is a new independent nonprofit organization focused on driving strategic real estate investment, housing growth, and commercial revitalization in downtown Akron, Ohio.
As with all of our design projects, we took an iterative approach to research, explore, develop, and refine a brand identity that would help DADC fulfill its goal of accelerating the redevelopment of Akron’s urban core. This meant creating a logo that would stand out locally and nationally, but also complement key partnerships.
The Downtown Akron Development Corporation brand identity includes a primary logo suite and a power logo suite, each designed for specific uses. The primary logo suite is clean, friendly, and trusted – ideal for everyday use. The power logo suite is strong, energizing, and authoritative – ideal for standing out in a crowd and proactive communication.
Once the branding was finalized, we extended it to business cards, email signatures, presentations, stickers, apparel, and stationery. The final logo suite also includes a wide variety of colorways for specific partner pairings and national holidays.
Creating this brand identity for an organization that is integral to the revitalization of our community was a dream come true. We look forward to seeing our community and businesses embrace it as our city charts a new vision for the future.
