Wilder, Gene
Mac was selected as a feature artist for 2016’s ReWorks exhibit at Summit Artspace. Selected artists were given a small stipend and challenged to create an original work of art made from found objects at Goodwill. Mac was attracted to the plastic children’s toys, and inspired to create a portrait of Gene Wilder. The short production window did not afford an opportunity to paint the piece, but Mac enjoyed creating the foundation and assembling his portrait. This sculpture remained on display at various locations for four years, and was eventually recycled in 2020.
