Expatriate Boom

In 2009, Mac was commissioned to create a painting for BoomAgers’ main conference room in the New York City office. Expatriate Boom is an acrylic and enamel painting on holographic paper collage with inlaid dollhouse windows and mirrors. The painting’s colors and shapes shift with changes in light and perspective. Mac was inspired to create the piece by his own experience living as an expatriate abroad, and designed the piece to mirror shifting perspectives on American identity and the American dream.
