Akron Aspires - Live Painting

We were engaged by Akron Life Magazine to create a live painting as part of the entertainment and experience at their 2026 Best of the City celebration at House Three Thirty. Mac designed a holographic painting concept featuring iconic buildings and landmarks with a strong vertical orientation in preparation for the live painting experience. This painting was designed to be started and completed in 45 minutes. Mac organized his creative process into 3 phases to complete the painting on time:

1. Illustration & coloring

2. Painting

3. Finalization

The live painting experience was set up in the Cabaret at House Three Thirty. Live music was performed by 2026 Best of the City winner, The Cover Band, while Mac painted. Visitors were encouraged to check out the painting as it developed, with many taking pictures and asking the artist questions throughout the process. The final painting features the historic Rubber Worker Statue, Huntington Tower, BLUtique, Knight Center, Akron Art Museum, Stan Hywet, Akron Beacon Journal, and YMCA buildings.The completed painting now hangs in Akron Life’s offices, standing as a proud tribute to and celebration of greatness across the region.
